baby jack’s room
tah-dah! we are all finished decorating and putting all the last details in place. here is baby jack’s room:
the crib corner with jack’s rocker and elephant toy bin. a “j” decal decorates the wall behind the crib.

paper lanterns hanging above the crib

and the rest of the room- the hamper, his navy shelf, changing table/dresser, family baby photo wall, the rocker, and the book shelf.

rocker with the boppy pillow and a closer look at his book shelf stocked full of frames, wooden animal toys, stuffed animals, piggy banks, and a basket for all the nursing stuff.

an up close of the changing table/dresser

family baby photos- jack will be able to see these when he is being changed and dressed.

our guest bed- keeping this in the room. david and i are planning to use it for the first week or so.

we are all ready and waiting…!
blue whale boutique
i am so excited to announce the website launch and grand opening of a fantastic new online store- blue whale boutique!
blue whale boutique is a cottage shop started by one of my besties (i am SO proud of her!!!) offering super cute and unique handmade creations for children ( ages newborn through age 8 ) and even a few treats for their mommies. everything they sell is handmade or embellished with hand crafted finishes. in addition to her own handmade goods, she also carries the handmade goods of a few other local designers (all of whom are fabulous) - NanaBug, Shelly’s Handmade, Sweet Cherub, Handmade by Jen & “I’m This Many”.
please check out the site and indulge in some handcrafted fabulousness!

christmas in july?
i was never one to jump at the idea of christmas in july (although, i did want to change my birthday to july 15th instead of having to celebrate it on december 15th- in the month of one hundred family birthdays and christmas), but i couldn’t resist sharing these holiday images that i have been saving for a long time…

love the purple-ness of it all. and the wall stockings? TOO cute!

pretty paper and a lovely chandelier.
i have to admit…these images make me excited for the holidays! and, we will have a little one to share it all with this year…ahhh- just the thought of it makes my heart melt!
beautiful outdoor spaces
i dream of one day having a backyard that has both a dark-colored pool with a stone deck and a lovely space of green grass with beautiful trees and flowers and shade for a hammock (and, of course, my brown goat!). here are some fun outdoor spaces i thought i would share while dreaming of owning my own one day…

how fun to have a yoga swing over the water?! in a beautiful setting and with a lovely wooden canoe!

a rolling sandbox! how FUN!

what a great deck with cozy cushions, lush surrounding greenery, and a fire pit for smores cooking!
wishing everyone a happy weekend outdoors! we are looking forward to our neighborhood festival this weekend…maybe we will find the perfect stuff for our growing baby!

how great are these necklaces??! i am loving them. you can build your own, adding charms as major life events happen. i know that they are insanely expensive and my rational mind tells me “no”, but can’t they be justified when you only get one charm at a time? if i were to indulge in one today- i would choose a gold dog bone, a silver disk with a gold frame that reads “s +d” and on the back 12.31.04, and a pretty stone, perhaps a large aquamarine with a gold wire. david, we will be “5″ this year…this is a great gift idea!
inspiring rooms
if you haven’t noticed, i have been really into looking at design images lately. i simply can’t get enough! they are so inspiring… anyway, i hope you are enjoying the beautiful images as much as i am.
and, happy weekend! don’t forget that daylight savings time begins sunday morning—yay for longer days, more sunshine, and more walks with our little bug (sadie)!!!

lovely shades of gray and white. and a super cute puppy!

love the rustic look of the towel racks.

pretty whites and greens and a lovely ceiling in this fantastic kitchen work space.

pretty, pretty blue (LOVE it!) and great window shades. also loving the touch of yellow with the lemons.

beautiful entrance way.

fish bedroom. how great is that painting?!

lovely spacious kitchen.

wish i had a reason to use these photographers. david, could we fake a wedding??? there work is so beautiful and so unique. attention to details are paid even to the picture packaging….

keepsake box.

tiny picture in a bottle.

adorable engagement photo.
habersham hall
i discovered the site shootpaces , which has absolutely beautiful photos of very lovely spaces. the company is based in london and their photographers have an amazing talent for capturing the beauty and realness of a space. the photos here are all of a victorian hall named habersham hall. i was especially taken with its open and airy kitchen that opens to an exquisite outdoor pool space…how lovely.

i love the colors and the open plan of this kitchen.

all of the kitchen gadgets that are displayed, instead of hidden away, are fab-o! and the mismatched cushions really make the breakfast table look fun!

this is a great dining table and chairs set! i love the mix of the chunky wooden table with the dainty metal blue chairs and fun striped cushions.

isn’t it lovely? the umbrella is way fun—is that feathers??!

the painted striped walls are too cute.
loving this whole space.
happy weekend to all of you lovelies! i hope there are fun plans in store. i am really looking forward to it! xxo-
