baby jack’s room
tah-dah! we are all finished decorating and putting all the last details in place. here is baby jack’s room:
the crib corner with jack’s rocker and elephant toy bin. a “j” decal decorates the wall behind the crib.

paper lanterns hanging above the crib

and the rest of the room- the hamper, his navy shelf, changing table/dresser, family baby photo wall, the rocker, and the book shelf.

rocker with the boppy pillow and a closer look at his book shelf stocked full of frames, wooden animal toys, stuffed animals, piggy banks, and a basket for all the nursing stuff.

an up close of the changing table/dresser

family baby photos- jack will be able to see these when he is being changed and dressed.

our guest bed- keeping this in the room. david and i are planning to use it for the first week or so.

we are all ready and waiting…!
beautiful outdoor spaces
i dream of one day having a backyard that has both a dark-colored pool with a stone deck and a lovely space of green grass with beautiful trees and flowers and shade for a hammock (and, of course, my brown goat!). here are some fun outdoor spaces i thought i would share while dreaming of owning my own one day…

how fun to have a yoga swing over the water?! in a beautiful setting and with a lovely wooden canoe!

a rolling sandbox! how FUN!

what a great deck with cozy cushions, lush surrounding greenery, and a fire pit for smores cooking!
wishing everyone a happy weekend outdoors! we are looking forward to our neighborhood festival this weekend…maybe we will find the perfect stuff for our growing baby!
orla kiely

i am so excited about the new orla kiely line starting at target THIS sunday! her girly patterns and bold colors are so great- i have been coveting her stuff for years! i can’t wait to stock up on her fun new kitchen stuff!
look at all the great stuff- dinner and servingware, storage boxes, closet organization, table and kitchen linens and even an apron. don’t you think i could pull off wearing the apron as a dress? i think it’s so cute!

an end to a week of colors: the multi colors in plaids and stripes
thanks for looking at my photos all week. i hope your week was a lovely one. a special thanks again to leya at curious bird for hosting.

pink
color week is moving right along — only today and tomorrow to go. i hope you have been enjoying all the colors as much as i have. it sure has made me look around to see all the many colors in my world…hope it’s made you do and appreciate the same.

my pillow indulgence. i adore their pom-poms.
yellow means almost all things bees…
i have a slight obsession with bees. yellow wednesday is a good excuse to indulge…
happy hump day!

breaking the 3 picture rule…AGAIN…i can’t help myself.

tart and sweet florida citrus
its a purple tuesday
purple and tuesdays make me think of mardi gras. i’m going to guess that your tuesday will be less festive than a day filled with nauseously sweet drinks, parades, and flashing girls, but i hope it’s a fun one anyway…

purple-topped turnips: one of my weekly farmer’s market purchases. looking forward to buttered turnips later this week.
blue
monday, monday…
i’m kicking off color week with one of my most favorite colors…BLUE. blue has been one of my favorites for as long as i can remember. it reminds me of so many things. like, the smurf s (arguably, one of the best cartoons of all-time), le creuset cookware, some of mine is a lovely shade called caribbean blue (others are a shade called dune, which is also a lovely color and completes the ocean theme i am clearly going for with this cookware… i even hope to get some flame pieces soon which will add the look of sun to my kitchen beach…sorry, i digress, le creuset excites me!), and some of my best friends chose pretty blue shades for their bridesmaids’ dresses, so it makes me think of all of them and their super fabulous wedding celebrations.
i am fond of blue.
wishing you a happy start to a great week! here’s some blue for you.

white chocolate mousse candle: a birthday present from a dear friend. believe me…it’s better than desert!

so, i got carried away with all my blue and on the first day of color week, i broke one of my two rules: i posted more than 3 pictures! will try to do better tomorrow…
thanks again to leya at curious bird for hosting this color celebration!
a week of colors
i’m excited and inspired. i’m going to participate in a week of color beginning on Monday, the twelfth. it’s been organized by another blogger and she has invited others to play along. here are the rules:
every week day of next week is dedicated to a color. i am going to take and then post photos daily that showcase the color of the day. there are no rules for the project, well, except for posting photos with the color of the day, but i have created some criteria that i will follow. i’m going to keep the photos to a minimum of three and i am limiting my focus to the colors found in my home. i am really looking forward to photographing some of the colors in my world and sharing them with you.
here is the color schedule:
monday: blue
tuesday: purple
wednesday: yellow
thursday:pink
friday: stripes or plaid
hope you enjoy looking at pictures, because there are going to be a lot!
