GO GATORS (and war eagle)!
around here, we are so excited that college football has started! even baby jack is geared up…

but, we have noticed that we still need to buy jack some game day outfits for his first games- we don’t have any 0-3 month florida or auburn outfits, yet. hopefully one day, jack will choose to cheer for the gators, just like his mommy and big sister ,

and then we won’t have to pacify his daddy with game day outfit switches!
here’s wishing for another gator dominated football season!
three months to go…
i cannot even believe it…my pregnancy has been such smooth sailing, that it is really flying by! i have three months until my due date of november fifth…three months until we meet our first born child, our precious little baby boy! did you hear me??!!…THREE MONTHS! i don’t know if i feel more disbelief or excitement, but i know it’s a good mix of both.
since i haven’t posted any bump pictures in a while, i thought i would use the three month mark as an opportunity to show off my new figure! over the past 6 weeks or so, i have truly popped out…just look for yourself-

thirteen or so weeks for our little one to grow…then, instead of belly pictures, we will have cuter pictures- baby pictures- to show off!
i’ve popped!
when we were in new york, i looked down one morning and thought to myself…”the baby definitely came with us!”
my tummy has popped right out and is ready to grow for the next 24 weeks or so! even sadie has noticed…WOW!

my celebrity look-alikes

have you ever wondered what famous person you most resemble? i asked the “experts” at myheritage.com and the consensus is that i look most like julianne moore–who knew?! i am actually pretty compatible, look-wise, to all 8 of my celebrity matches, which is very different from what i have been seeing in the blog world. most people are only about 50% compatible with one celebrity and even less compatible with the other 7. hmmm…perhaps there are a lot of stephanie clones running around!
as an aside, david discovered this celebrity look-alike:

it’s andy from the office and mark begich, the new senator from alaska. they look identical don’t they?? too funny! thanks for the images, david.
cheese and chocolate = love dinner
we had a fondue valentine’s dinner at home…it was so much fun and SO yummy! since the large number of fondue recipes out there can be overwhelming to sift through, i thought i’d share the ones we used since they were easy AND delicious. and, i found it difficult to choose which foods to select for dipping (so many recipes suggest the typical bread, fruit, sponge cake trio), so i wanted to share which foods we chose to eat with our fondue- we learned that the food can really make the meal.

cheese fondue, recipe for 2 (with plenty leftover):
foods for dipping- roasted brussels sprouts, kielbasa, grilled zucchini, and country french bread
toss 1/2 pound of shredded gruyere cheese with 1 1/2 tablespoons of unbleached all-purpose flour in a large bowl. rub the interior of your fondue pot with 1 clove of minced garlic. place pot on the stove over medium heat and add 1 cup dry white wine. bring to a simmer and add the cheese mixture, one handful at a time. stir in 1/4 teaspoon of grated nutmeg.
stir over low heat until smooth and cheese is melted and bubbling. transfer to your table stand. dip and enjoy!

of course, sadie loved it too!
chocolate fondue, again recipe for 2 (with plenty leftover):
foods for dipping- strawberries, cream cheese pound cake, and sliced apples
gently melt together over medium heat a 1/2 pound of dark chocolate, 2 tablespoons of half and half, and 1 tablespoon grand marnier. once melted and smooth, transfer to your table stand. dip and enjoy!

go cats!
we spent the past two weekends cheering for our davidson wildcats at two very exciting (well, one exciting and one exciting BUT disappointing) basketball games. the first of our two weekends was spent in birmingham with my parents. the four of us cheered LOUDLY as davidson pulled off a very close win against a sold-out crowd at samford.

this past weekend, we were in charlotte and davidson with some of our college best friends—what a FUN weekend we had! it was so much fun to be back in north carolina (the residency destination talk has begun…again!) and although davidson lost in a CLOSE game, we had a blast catching up with best friends and meeting baby elizabeth!

and, to make the situation even better, all of this davidson basketball watching has afforded me the pleasure of cheering, in person, for my favorite player, #42 ben allison!

if anyone sees a shirt bearing a nickname for english ben, like barr’s white lobster or curry’s steff-in shirt found at a square game.com —PLEASE let me know. i am dying to have one! and, if you are reading this and do t-shirt design, i am digging the thought of a prince benjamin tee.
david and i don’t think we are very good luck for the team, so our attendance at the socon tournament is “to be determined”…
with or without us on the sidelines, good luck cats! here’s wishing for another successful ride through march madness!
happy anniversary, mom and dad!
happy anniversary to my amazing parents! thank you for getting married AND having children! i hope you have an amazing celebratory weekend. sending kisses to pensacola…
xxo, s

i got myself a new hairdo
i was having a rough day…i had a flat tire in the pouring rain! so, instead of driving to go pick up my farm fresh eggs, i sat in my car (which was fortunately in my work parking lot) waiting for AAA to come change my tire.
BUT, when i got home, i had a present from a fun aussie crafter in the mailbox (more on that soon) AND then i got my hair cut and the new look makes me SMILE! and, i now have some bangs (long bangs, that is)!

what do you think???
what tha ???!!
some of you know the story. it was horrifying. i was scared out of my rational mind (see photo as proof). i’m now ready to reflect on it and share with those of you who have not heard…
stay tuned: story next week.

(p.s. dad, sorry for saying “what tha…”- to this day, i still think of you when i hear this phrase and how much you hated for us to say it when we were young!)
